Welcome to PMI 2027

The 10th International Conference on Physics, Mathematics and Information (PMI 2027) will be held in Datong, Shanxi, China, from April 23 to 25, 2027. It is organized by the School of Physics and Electronic Science, Shanxi Datong University; Terahertz Radiation and Application Key Laboratory of Sichuan Province; and the Institute of Solid State Physics, Shanxi Datong University. It is co-organized by Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Shanxi Key Laboratory of Microstructure Electromagnetic Functional Materials.

As the new round of technological revolution continues to advance rapidly, physics and mathematics serve as the core foundational disciplines that provide essential theoretical support for artificial intelligence, quantum computing, big data analysis, complex system modeling and other cutting-edge research directions. The in-depth interdisciplinary integration with information science has not only revolutionized the paradigm of basic theoretical research, but also opened brand-new development prospects for technological innovation and industrial applications in optoelectronic engineering, intelligent perception, information security, intelligent systems and many other fields. With the core theme of “Frontier Integration and Innovative Development of Physics, Mathematics and Information Science”, PMI 2027 gives full play to disciplinary interdisciplinary advantages and strives to build an open, diverse and efficient international academic exchange platform. The conference gathers distinguished global scholars, researchers and industry professionals to deepen interdisciplinary scientific cooperation, facilitate original innovative breakthroughs, and empower future technological transformation driven by basic sciences.

The PMI conference series (formerly the International Conference on Physics, Mathematics and Statistics, ICPMS) has been successfully held for nine sessions since its inception in 2018, bringing together scholars and experts from over ten countries worldwide for academic exchange, and establishing a strong academic reputation and industry influence. PMI 2027 sincerely invites senior scholars and early-career researchers from home and abroad to gather in the ancient capital of Datong to explore disciplinary frontiers, advance technological innovation, and build bridges of collaboration, jointly promoting the high-quality development of interdisciplinary fields in physics, mathematics, and information science, and writing a new chapter of academic innovation.

关于大同 / ABOUT DATONG

Datong, known as Pingcheng in ancient times, is located in northern Shanxi Province at the junction of Shanxi, Hebei, and Inner Mongolia. As one of the first batch of National Historic and Cultural Cities and one of the Nine Great Ancient Capitals of China, it has long been renowned as the "Capital of Three Dynasties and Stronghold of Two Dynasties." The Northern Wei Dynasty once established its capital here. Cultural heritages such as the Yungang Grottoes, Mount Hengshan (Northern Sacred Mountain), the Hanging Temple, Huayan Temple, and the Ancient City of Datong are scattered throughout the region. Among them, the Yungang Grottoes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of China's three major grotto complexes, bear witness to the glorious history of the fusion between Silk Road civilization and Central Plains culture.

Datong was also the cradle of energy supply for New China, earning the title of "Coal Capital" for its significant contributions to the nation's energy needs. At present, Datong is accelerating its transformation away from a coal-dominated economy toward a coordinated development model as a "City of Energy, City of Computing Power, and City of Culture." The city's installed capacity for new energy power generation has exceeded 11 million kilowatts, accounting for over 57% of total installed capacity, with new energy generating more than 35% of electricity output. By the end of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the installed capacity of new energy is expected to double. Leveraging its proximity to Beijing, cool climate, and abundant green electricity, Datong's computing power industry has risen to the forefront nationwide, ranking third in the national city computing power sub-index for two consecutive years. Meanwhile, Datong continues to polish its cultural tourism brands as the "Ancient Cultural Capital, Cool Summer Resort, and Gourmet City," striving to build itself into an internationally renowned cultural tourism destination, infusing the millennium-old ancient city with renewed vitality through green transformation.
